A fantastic looking, detached, undressed brick pub, with a patio area. It is a Bateman's house, that does B&B, as well as food. The interior has a a large L-shaped room, now it has all been knocked through into one - one part for dining. At the far end there is a pool room, with a dart board and TV, which is in white with wood floor. The main room is in coffee, with some wood panel and black paintwork, with a white and beam ceiling and patterned carpet. There are a couple of tiled fireplaces and some brasses and bottles for interest. There is a TV here and a fish tank - the music was general and at a decent level, when it was on. I visited a few times and the food was fine, the service great and the locals friendly. Beer; tap stuff with Bateman's Sring Goddess, XB, XXB and a decent MILD on handpull. A really nice place - the one we returned to more than any other whilst in the area. Worth a visit.
