This is a large detached hotel, restaurant and bar, with front patio area and rear garden area. It is in the GBG 2012,and is in cream painted brick with green paintwork around the curved Victorian windows and there is a dog-tooth cornice.
The interior has a bar room and a restaurant, both of which i didn't see. I visited the lounge/dining room, which is to the right on entry. This in an irregular shaped room , with foody tables, sofas, comfy seats, books on selves and a wood surround fireplace. The decor is yellow patterned wallpaper, wood panel, a white ceiling and a patterend carpet. There is a wood bar in the corner and a range of eclectic prints on the walls; along with a little bistro styled art and a bit of sculpture. I didn't see a TV and music came straight from Radio 2. The service was fine and it seemed busy, with locals and it was family based too.
Beer; usual tap stuff with Skinner's Betty Stoggs, Robinson's Enigma, Sharpe's Doombar and a brew from their own microbrewery - Bacchus Spring Time. The Stoggs and Doombar were fine, the local brew wasn't really to my taste.
This was a nice place to visit and one i would visit again. Nice to see a place brewing its own beer - definitely worth a visit.
