Old Boots left this review about The Brown Cow

A small pub a short walk from the town centre. White painted with a front patio area and a side patio it’s located in the vee of two roads. Inside it’s the now traditional L shape, the front part of the counter has the four pulls at the left hand end, one from local boys Munyard, the ubiquitous Landlord, a Beartown and Crumb from Northdown in Margate which was also on in Ye Olde Whyte Swanne. There’s an odd couple of residual arched walls halfway along the counter face in line with the front door, maybe there were two small bars with a bottle & jug in between?  Round the corner are a low and a high T-bar, a couple of oddballs among the usuals. It’s a small place so seating is limited at the tables and chairs, a few bar stools encourage bar blockers but not to a problematic level. There’s a larger back room but not popular on my visit as its more a dining room. Usual pub decor of drink related nick nacks, brewery mirrors and a football shirt all hanging on on William Morris wallpaper. A couple of screens in corners but no piped music, a good band of regulars makes the better soundtrack. Very popular with the Camras and it’s in their book this year, a stack of them in the left hand room suggests this is a long term entry - I wouldn’t argue.

Tidy detached local overlooking a junction 10 mins from town. The bar area feels inter-war in parts, mildly surprised it's not in the CAMRA Heritage list. Tastefully decorated with a country pub feel. The best Taylor’s Landlord I've had for many a day, they've earned the brewery’s Champion Club badge and the GBG place (NBSS 4). Two micros and Black Sheep alongside. The owners have been here at least 10 years and it shows, they’ve got the place to look and feel just like the they and the locals want it. Worth the 5-10 min walk from Spoons. 7.5
