I called in for a beer on a recent cycle ride to photograph some of the previously photoless pubs in this part of Lincolnshire. The pub looks very nice from the outside, though it's difficult to take a decent photo with a van parked close to the front door, but once inside it's very ordinary. The single room is split between dining tables on the left and sofas near the fire on the right. On the bar were two hand pumps offering Timothy Taylor Boltmaker and Bradfield Farmers Blonde, behind it a young woman who would seemingly rather have been anywhere than behind the bar of a country pub. There were three or four other customers, and the lack of conversation was adequately covered by, if not caused by the blaring pop music. The beer was as indifferent as the service.

The Plough has gone through a few changes recently both in Management and the Restaurant making The Plough the highlight of the village. With a new menu and a friendly customer base The Plough is worth the small diversion off the A46 between Lincoln and Newark.
Hope to see you there soon.
