Re-opened as a pub by the Brunning & Price group after 18 years of closure and spending that time as a Loch Fyne fish restaurant. This is set back from the road with a small car park and decking out front and is semi-Tardis-like internally, extending far back including a conservatory-type area at the far reaches. A long bar on the right-hand side offered a seven-ale line-up of Five Points XPA, Animal Hop Kitty, Redemption Rock the Kazbek, Rebellion Roasted Nuts, Sambrooks Wandle, Fisher's Blonde Ale and Chiltern Pale with an eighth pump clip reversed. A pint of the Fisher's was £4.80 for the privilege and in average condition. Very woody, with bare boards, wooden ceiling slats, third-height panelling and carved wood fireplace surround along with plenty of framed photos, paintings, portraits, old maps, et al on the walls. Bucks and Oxon seem to be bucking the trend with closed pubs re-opening and long may it continue.
