Tris C left this review about The Adam & Eve

Standing since 1701 on Lindum (Roman in origin for Lincoln) Road, this is a steep mile’s walk due north of the railway station.
Well described below, this is a simple, no-nonsense traditional place and comfortable.
I went for the Castle Rock Harvest Pale which was very good, £2.15 a half, served by a friendly barmaid.
This was a good start to our crawl.

This current GBG entry is a good location to start any crawl of Lincoln as, although it is a bus ride or a £7 taxi journey, ( at time of writing), from the rail station, it is largely flat or downhill from here to return.
Clearly a pub of some age, which was obviously multiple rooms back in the day, but is now largely opened out with a modern interior decor. However, it is nicely done, and the various different areas still give the feeling of multiple spaces radiating away from the main bar area, and the one at the back provides a decent games room with pool table and dartboard.
Four ales, as described by Graham below, available on the hand pumps on the bar. I thought the lineup was a bit pedestrian for a GBG pub, but the Castle Rock Harvest Pale was in excellent condition and this was a comfortable pub to start the days crawl.

Bucking Fastard left this review about The Adam & Eve

To the side of a main road leading out of Lincoln ,the interior has had a refurb producing a comfortable front section with seating under the windows and a small servery, while the rear room has the main servery and a modern stone effect flooring with traditional tables and chairs.
The handpumps were drawing a real cider,Doom Bar,TT Landlord,Marston's Hobgoblin and a decent Castle Rock Harvest Pale (NBSS 4). Although not an exciting line up ,the ale conditioning justifies the 2025 GBG listing.

A good and unpretentious pub up a hill out of town with a fairly trad interior of several rooms and a decked area out the back. The Castle Rock Harvest was drinking well with unsampled alternatives of TT Landlord, Hobgoblin and Doom Bar.

There was a quiz in progress when I visited on a recent Thursday evening, so it wasn’t the best time to get a feel for the place. There’s a front bar area, but the main bar runs up the right. There are small seating areas found throughout and at the rear is a room with a pool table and dartboard. BT Sport is advertised. The bar supports standard keg alongside San Miguel and the four hand pumps were drawing Castle Rock’s Harvest Pale, GK Old Speckled Hen and TT Landlord alongside a Lilley’s Cider. Food is available, the burger is priced at a tenner. The service was polite and I think I would give this place another go, but maybe not during the Thursday quiz.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Adam & Eve Tavern

Obviously an old pub (with a date of 1701 being claimed), but the partly opened-out, multi-room interior looks a lot more modern than one might expect. Busy pool table. Four of five handpumps in operation: Landlord, Old Speckled Hen, Castle Rock Harvest Pale (£3.70) and a Lilley's cider.

It's a difficult walk uphill to get to the Adam & Eve, unless you're already at the top of the hill. Having checked into my hotel at the bottom of the hill, I arrived somewhat hot and sweaty.

I sat just opposite the bar after being served at the bar itself. But there are a number of different rooms, including a small room with a pool table at the back, where some youngsters were being a bit boisterous. Most locals seemed friendly though. The pub also has a car park, with an outdoor drinking area.

Harvest Pale & Old Speckled Hen are the regular ales. The guest beer was Landlord. I opted for the Lilley's Rhubarb Cider, which was also available on handpull. After the steep walk uphill, it was quite refreshing. I'm not sure if the CAMRA discount also applies to real cider, as I wasn't offered it. Nevertheless, a good locals' pub.

ROB Camra left this review about The Adam & Eve Tavern

What obviously used to be a multi roomed pub has been somewhat opened out, but it still manages to retain a multi room feel. Flag floors and old beams add to the atmosphere. There's a small patio to the rear which was a real suntrap during our midweek visit and also fairly quiet. Friendly barmaid and punters along with the sunny garden meant that we stayed here for two rather than the one round that was planned. Both my pints were in good nick including the Castle Rock Harvest Pale which is still on the bar nearly 2 years since Quinno's visit, so it may be a permanent. They offer a small (5%) CAMRA discount that they were good enough to tell us about. Ms CAMRA liked the wine as well, so all in all we liked it. We'll call in again next time we're in Lincoln, especially if it's sunny. According to Whatpub it's supposed to open at midday, but it certainly wasn't open when we passed just after 12 though.

Quinno _ left this review about The Adam & Eve Tavern

A little off the beaten track, this is obviously an aged building but it promises more on the outside than the inside delivers, it has been modernized somewhat, though it retains some low beams and discrete areas. Stood in the main bar with everyone watching the footy. Five ales on, Castle Rock Harvest Pale (quite green, unimpressive), Black Sheep Blitzen, GK Fireside and Speckled and Rockin Rudolf. Neither Desmond or I got much out of this one and we pushed off without too much prompting. 5.5

Old Boots left this review about The Adam & Eve Tavern

An ancient inn, opened out and redecorated in modern style but still retaining many smaller spaces. There's four pulls, on this occasion with London Pride, Old Speckled Hen, Harvest Pale and one from Oldershaw, it also had Camden Pale and eight varieties of national kegs.
