This lovely old stone-built village local has what looks to be fake half-timbering added to the facade. Inside there is more room than you might expect, with three rooms at the front - a public bar with TV & pool table, exposed stone walls and a combination of flag stones and tiles on the floor, a small snug with deep chairs and a sofa, plus a dining room - and a larger room at the other side of the bar, which I didn't explore. There seemed to be only one hand pump, but I wasn't complaining as it was serving the previously unknown to me Blue Cow Best Bitter, which is brewed on the premises. This was an excellent 4.2% ale which went down a treat with me. Definitely one to bear in mind when next in the area.

This is a decent looking pub with the upper floor having beams when you walk into the pub there is an handpump which looks like beer is coming out of it permanently into a small pond i thought this looked unusual. The Blue Cow brews its own beer there was only one real ale on the bar which was Blue Cow Bitter it was quite a good drink. The pub was fairly quiet when we went in it looked like half of the pub was set up for diners but this was in the other room there was no one eating here.
