A proper chocolate box sort of pub frequented by the green welly brigade, Michelin Star seeking diners and, to their delight on one particular evening, us. In reality the drinking is confined to a small but atmospheric bar, mercifully enclosed from the dining rooms and decorated with old LP and 7” vinyl sleeves hanging from the painted brick walls. There’s a glorified serving hatch for beer, dispensing 2x Grainstore ales, Tenfifty and Cooking Bitter on our visit, both of which were in very good shape. They were happy to have us as drinkers and pure imbibing is heartily encouraged. We left really impressed, there’s a lot to like here.
