The Stag & Hounds is situated in the village of Burrough on the Hill immediately nextdoor to the Parish Brewery. I'd just had their beer in the Melton Mowbray & District Indoor Bowls Club and was hoping to find more here.
Alas, whilst the welcome was really warm, the only 2 real ales were Jimbo & Daily Bread from Purity & Abbeydale respectively. This is a nice country pub with a number of small rooms. It features in the 2023 Good Beer Guide, but the emphasis appears to be on dining. You pass the kitchen on the way to the bar. I caught a view of Yorkshire Puddings being made, presumably in advance of the following day's Sunday lunches.
In addition to the cosy rooms inside, there is also a pleasant outdoor patio area to the rear where some families had gathered.

We visited a pub called GRANTS in Burrough on the Hill i think this used to be the Stag and Hounds.Looking at the pub from the outside with a daft name like Grants i was'nt expecting much but was surprised to find that Parish Brewery brew their beer here there was almost the full range of their beers on the bar plus a beer from Grainstore i had Parish Bitter which was very good there was also Baz's Bonce Blower on the bar but at 12% i did'nt bother to try this one. This is a decent pub with very good beer but has a daft name but well worth going to.
