Lovely pub not far off the A1, and so well worth a visit for a bite to eat if in the area.
We stopped off here on the way back from Brighton to York, and it was well worth it.
The pub itself is just of the main street and has a car park around the back. The pub has a lovely bar straight in front of you as you enter, with rooms off to each side and a really lovely paved courtyard which is excellent for eating outside.
The food was delicious - I had the Old Dalby Chicken breast, Spanish black pudding parmentier, spinach which was fantastic and my wife the Grilled Mackerel with new potatoes and beetroot salad - both were very special indeed.
A cracking pub.

The Red Lion was a decent pub with a few different rooms when i went in it,this pub used to be an Home Ales tied house and there were two real ales on the bar i had a drink of Home bitter and this was a very nice drink the other beer was Home mild.
I dont know what beers are now on in this pub.
