Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Wheel & Compass
Slightly unusually, this village pub is set a short walk outside the built-up area, although I guess that there may have been another in the centre previously? Anyway, the interior has been comprehensively remodelled and refurbished in a semi-traditional style. With an irregular layout of various seating and dining areas, some down a few steps past the counter, the main feature is the large log-burning stove that is more of an art installation than a heating appliance. Beer-wise, Banks's Amber, Pedigree, Abbot and Nelson's Revenge from Woodforde (£4.10) were being served from the five handpumps. Good atmosphere on a Saturday afternoon.

The Wheel and Compass is a decent looking pub situated in the small village of Weston by Welland.
There are two entrances to this pub the left entrance takes you into the modern extension that has got the restaurant/dining room in it,the right entrance takes you into the proper pub, once inside there was a single room that i noticed this was L shaped and there was a small area to the front right which was down a couple of steps, the room had a beamed ceiling with bench seating at small tables,i quite liked this room as it had a proper pub feel to it.
There were four real ales on the bar and i had a drink of Oakham Bishops Farewell which was a very nice drink the other beers were Marstons bitter,Pedigree and GK Abbot.
There is a decent sized garden to the rear and the pub is listed in the 2012 GBG.
