This is an attractive thatched roof country pub in this county border village (they have an annual tug-o-war match with Oxfordshire neighbours Tiddington). It's an L-shaped interior, with tables, presumably for dining, to the left although these weren't laid, not did they have menus. There's an open fireplace opposite the bar and a mixture of bench, chair and stool seating with a flagstone floors and plenty of exposed beams along with a generous beer garden out back. Beers were Black Sheep Bitter, Marston's EPA, Adnam's Southwold Bitter and Broadside. The Southwold was £3.50 a pint and a decent drop. They advertised sport, but a lack of this and muzak on a Sunday lunchtime visit made for a relaxing ambiance.
