Quinno _ left this review about The Greyhound

Hiding its light under a bushel. There's a super little bar here, decorated in a plush and traditional style; pew bench seating, parquet flooring, hundreds of old whisky bottles and some nice old paintings, clocks and prints. Also a nice potted plant heavy side garden. Three cask on over five sticks; Doom Bar, TTL and a smashing drop of Oakham Bishop (NBSS 4). There were dozens of whisky bottles along the beams which the lass confirmed were all available to have a dram from. Just a shame it was so quiet, and the ‘barmaid’ was also doubling as the hotel receptionist, having to haul herself off her perch each time there was an order. I’d definitely re-do this one based on this visit. 7.5

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Greyhound Coaching Inn

Fine old coaching inn, still operating in a similar way - although the horses have long gone - and it looks a picture (especially in the alleyway where the rear yard would once have been accessed). Apart from the main hotel parts, it benefits from having an unfussy and relatively pub-like bar open to all. With four of the five handpumps in use on a Monday evening, after a walk around the town and nearby Bitteswell, I found Doom Bar, Sharp's Atlantic, Proper Job and Oakham's Bishops Farewell (£2.45, half) being served.

The Greyhound is a fairly large three storey coaching inn that is now the only coaching inn left afer the demise of the Hind and Denbigh Arms.
There is no front door to this pub the entrance is through the archway, once inside the main bar is to the front of the pub, this is a smallish square shaped room that had a wood floor and posh looking wooden pew type seating, there was a TV above the fire place showing football scores, this was quite a nice room to have a drink in,there was a posh looking dining area to the rear of the pub.
There were three real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Adnams Broadside and ths was a nice drink, the other beers were Ruddles Best and Ruddles County.
This is a more upmarket pub but as drinkers we were made just as welcome.
