From the outside you'll see a picturesque pub in a fabulous riverside location. Fortunately there's a Greene King sign there too to lower your expectations. And lowered they should be: it's been brutally, but sadly predictably, refurbished into GK's version of a Harvester/Beefeater. Your spectacles will need a very deep rose tint indeed to discern any original features. It is, of of course, immensely popular with a certain breed of more mature punter, for whom a huge plate of bland freezer-to-microwave food in a pretty location is a thing close to heaven. But as far as pubgoers are concerned? Wait for a hot day. The seats outside make a very pleasant spot to spend an hour - though the presence of a kiddies' play area suggests weekends may be best avoided. And even then unless you don't mind GK IPA or Hen you'll have to make do with Wifebeater.
