A slightly off-the-beaten track boozer, a good 10-minute walk from Aylesbury's centre and situated amid a line of terraced houses on the road leading out towards Buckingham. A likely two-roomer in a previous life, this is now open plan and boxy with a horseshoe-shaped bar facing the entrance and a dart room / alcove to the right of the bar, a pool table opposite and some partioned seating to the left, including standard tables and chairs and bench seating against the window. The good-looking dark-wooded bar seems original and offered a couple of locAles in Chiltern Pale Ale and Tring Brock Bitter - both in great shape and a steal at £3.20 a pint. It's a little locally and expect a look or two if you pay a visit, but there's a lot worse in Aylesbury and this is fairly deserving of a '6' mark.
