Irish theme pub with a rock music bent. Overbearing emerald green (ceiling included) and dark varnish. All the loopy TQ+ flags strung-up up in here, did not expect to see that. A couple of the younger alt crowd in and a chunk of the music was old skool goth, which I enjoyed. But ultimately four customers on a weekday evening was a poor return. One pump with no cask 'it goes on Friday until the end' I was told after some prompting. A new keg on me in Brennan's stout which I didn't much care for. Barman not really interested in service and looked like he was running down the clock. All felt a bit depressing in here. 3.5

Duffy’s Bar was so dimly lit as I approached I actually thought it was closed. There are some tables either side of the entrance and also to the right the piano was being crudely played alongside a couple of guitars. The bar counter runs up the left wall, standard and premium keg were available and I spotted two hand pumps. One was drawing Sharp’s Doom Bar and the other was holding a blue roll of paper. I plotted at a table by the door at the rear that leads to a back bar and stage area that is used for live music. The ‘Sound Technician’ informed me this pub is a space for creative students and bands to hone their craft and enjoy their musical hobbies. My hobby is drinking in quiet pubs so I’ll not be back.

Dimly lit place with the bar on the left and toilets to the rear. Unfortunately all keg.
