A revisit for the F-i-L’s birthday meal. A lot quieter on a dreary weekday afternoon which gave me a bit more room to appreciate the décor and layout, which is decent - two norms and fairly well done. Usual Everards stagers plus two small batch brews and one guest in Titanic. Downed pints of Old Original (NBSS 2) and Tiger (3.5). 6.5

Looks like a nice village pub from outside but inside a huge refurb barn. Full of kids from all the local villages passing off their fake IDs on early Saturday evening. Full Everards range on cask with a couple of their small batch brews as well, my Black Forest was barrel-end though (NBSS 2). A successful pub in terms of punter numbers if nothing else. I think the praise I see for it elsewhere (Telegraph's Top 500!?) may well be from a different time. Rated 6

The Stamford Arms is in the middle of Groby and it is a nice looking pub from the outside.
Once inside there was one largish room with an island bar,there were different types of tables and chairs giving the pub a rustic feel.
This pub is an Everards tied house and there were six real ales on the bar i had a drink of Everards Beacon bitter and this was a very nice drink the other beers were Everards Tiger bitter, Everards Original,Everards Sunchaser and a new seasonal beer called Whakatu there was also a guest beer from York brewery called Long Daze.
This pub had a really nice relaxed atmosphere to it and i could have stayed here all afternoon.

A great old trad pub in the heart of the Village of Groby.Trad beers from Everards,good pub grub and warm and cosy bar with a gaming hall that includes a bowling alley.A must if you ever vist the village of Groby Leicestershire.
