Recently refurbed after a period of closure which has robbed it of the CAMRA Heritage rating; annoyingly I first tried to visit days after its original demise. It is now a branded Craft Union pub. Inside at least retains the three rooms hugging the servery and the décor isn’t badly done, white and blue mainly. Friendly service via the Maryland barmaid (from the place, not the cookie). No cask on, a Pride clip was turned. A Cruzcampo did me. There aren’t many pubs round this way so hopefully this one can keep going. We were the only customers on an early weekday afternoon, however.
