Remains as described by Steve below, surprisingly empty late on a dismal weekday afternoon: a few white van types and a resident bar-fly getting pissed on cider. We tried the UBU which was so-so, may well have been the first out all day.

This is in need of a refurb judging by the battered paintwork and general signs of decay. Barmaid aside, M&B need to spend a few quid on it to bring it up to scratch.

OK if you are passing but if you are heading towards Buckingham there are better choices.

After checking into the adjacent Premier Inn on a recent Wednesday evening I decided to have dinner in the Horse and Jockey. This is an Ember Inns pub with right-hand bar and larger left-hand dining area that are connected by an area with an extremely low ceiling. I spotted table football and a piano, but there are no televisions. However, there was some low background music playing and a weekly quiz is held here every Thursday.
The bar supports a standard and premium keg range and I counted four hand pumps that were drawing Twilighter Fresh IPA, Fullers London Pride, Adnams Ghost Ship and Westons Old Rosie Cider. A fifth hand pump was unused. I opted for the Ultimate Burger, the biggest, which came in at just over £10. This is a very food led pub, but the bar is separate enough to get away from the diners. I’m not sure I would go out of my way to visit here again, but it is very handy if staying at the hotel. Also, I would have had breakfast the following morning but for some inexplicable reason they do not start serving until 08:30 which is way too late for most business travellers.

Located just off a crossroads on the northern half of Aylesbury not far from Aylesbury United's old Buckingham Road ground, this is an Ember Inns pub with a bolt-on Premier Inn around the back. There's a decent bar area located from the car park with a handful of screens (showing a live football during my visit) along with a background of muzak. Five ales comprised Fuller's London Pride, Sharp's Doom Bar Amber, Brakspear Bitter, Ember Pale Ale and Marston's Pedigree. The latter two had tags reading 'Just cleaning the lines' and 'I'm being cleaned' respectively, so a bottle of Little Creatures Pale Ale it was. There's a main restaurant area to the left, and food is a main focus as you'd imagine here. Fair play to them for bothering with a five ale line-up, utterly bland and anodyne though it is.
