A 15 minute stroll from the town centre and looks fairly promising on approach. It appeared closed with the front door resolutely shut, but there's an entrance round the far end of the car park (which looked like a fire door to me). The initial bar is in the rear room which has been refurbed at fairly minimal expense in grey, blue and mint green, though there's a bit of plastic fauna to liven things up a bit. Tables a bit battered. Unusable Northamptonshire skittles table spotted plus an also unusable dart board. Horse racing on the telly. No cask here and little out of the ordinary on keg bar Caffreys Stout which was fine for a half. Thought that was it but heard noises elsewhere and went off to explore and subsequently found another room at the front which is more loungey (if somewhat starkly decorated) but is at least carpeted and has a bit of banquette seating. Four pumps in here with two cask on, Pride and Pedigree. I tried the latter to say I’d given the cask a go and had to ditch it (NBSS 1.5).
