Quinno _ left this review about Narborough Arms

Now Narborough’s only pub. An aged GK house over two buildings - dark and low ceilinged but too open to be truly atmospheric - with three cask on, Abbot IPA and Deuchars (NBSS 1.5 – cardboardy). I sat in the bay window mentioned below and I concur with the previous reviewer, having now been to both pubs myself! The ale was much better in Buxton though…

Will Larter left this review about Narborough Arms

The two old buildings that make up the Narborough Arms have been opened up, with beams and pillars appearing to be of some antiquity, though whether they originally belonged to either building is another matter. The half-timbered building on the left might be the older of the two, and has a large bay window that reminds me of the Cheshire Cheese in Buxton. The building on the right is much plainer, though there are some bits of old windows that have been preserved in internal walls that may indicate that there were formerly other doors to the street. The bar counter runs most of the length of the back wall, with five hand pumps and numerous keg taps. Greene King IPA and Abbot Ale were available, but I went for St Austell Tribute, which was served in one of those strangely narrow half pint glasses that look as though they would be very easy to knock over, though I never have done so far. The beer was in very good condition and service was friendly and welcoming. There's a Camra members discount advertised, 10% off the price of a pint, though I don't try to claim it these days - mostly because I drink halves when out and about. Not really my sort of pub, with some pretty awful background music, but with car park, food and accommodation available it is bound to be right for some.
