Nearest pub to Leicester CCC. Two-roomer in a 60s building with a nice weatherboard upper, sold by Everards to Punch (boo!) in 2025. So in a fairly good state of repair and the impressive wood carved servery survives, complemented by a pub carpet. Six pumps over the two bars, with a surprisingly good Doom Bar as the token ale (NBSS 3) served by a barmaid with more tattoos than an El Salvadorian prison inmate. Good atmosphere on my Thursday evening visit. Oddity was the fish tank behind the bar which had no fish in. Hope the locals hadn’t battered them. Anyway, pretty good but could be better on the ale front. 6.5
