Chef & Brewer pub/hotel. Very comfy (if mildly twee) modern fit-out with a couple of discrete areas once you get away from the more anonymous bar area. Two GK ales on the go and given how quiet the place was - even though it should have been peak time on a Thursday lunchtime - I wasn't expecting much but my half of OSH was, despite being a little chilly, really rather good (NBSS 4). So not exactly somewhere to get the pulse racing, but next time I’m up this way I will pop to see if they can repeat the trick, especially as I now know there’s a garden out the back with a view of the castle and that “tales of secret underground passages from the castle to the hotel were confirmed when one was discovered in 1975”. 5.5
