Formby’s feels a lot more upmarket than its Hindley peers which, let’s be honest, isn’t very difficult to achieve. There’s a high table in the front left window and then the serving counter runs up the left-hand wall. The two hand pumps were unused which left premium and craft keg alongside Carling. Having not long left Congleton I decided to reminisce and plumped for half a Beartown Inception. In the front right is some seating alongside a fireplace with burner and raised seating is found in the right rear corner. A couple of televisions were playing muted Sky Sports whilst some background music played. There’s regular live music advertised for weekends, but be aware that this pub opens mid afternoon during the week. This isn’t the most interesting pub, but the service was friendly and surroundings were comfortable.
