Styled as 'pub / pizza / grill', it's obvious this place is trying to sate several camps, but seemed to be doing just that and well on a Monday evening. Although located on the A404 the entrance is via the side with the bar counter facing. The space moves out the left which is predominantly for diners, with space on the right moving back around the bar in an 'L' and more tables set out for casual dining (bottles of sauce in wooden blocks with table numbers on and cutlery and serviettes in clear jam jars). As these aren't laid out specifically there's no truck with sitting here with a beer if that's your vibe. Ales were limited to Deuchars IPA, Rebellion Reformer and Fuller's London Pride. Lots of box ticking is being with offerings including Trad Jazz, Quiz Nights, Six Nations Rugby live and Sunday roasts in addition to the burger and pizza-heavy menu. Nice enough, but you'd feel out of place without skinny jeans and a checked shirt.
