The Elephant and Castle is another traditional pub in Amersham Old Town. It advertises itself as an English pub, Kitchen and restaurant. You enter into a carpeted old dark beamed bar of some character with open stone fireplaces. Then beyond this there is a large conservatory for dining and then a garden area to the rear.
There are three ale pumps on the bar and St Austell Tribute appeared to be the house beer. Hook Norton Lion was a guest beer and the remaining pump was unclipped.
Didn’t eat here and as usual better looking at Trip advisor for this where it appears to polarise opinions.
But for a pint this is a nice characterful pub which would be difficult to not recommend if it had a more interesting local brewery beer policy rather than the couple of standard mainstream offerings it seems to safely go with.
