Nicely refurbished pub, directly opposite the Premier Inn and John Milne pub. There's a horseshoe shaped bar as you enter, with another separate room to the right. To the left is some banquette seating and some tables and chairs. I've visited this pub many times in the past, but this was the first time since the refubishment. It's a locals pub, but not a typical back street local, with many of the regulars being white collar rather than blue collar. There was only one handpumped beer available which was Lees Bitter as this is a tied Lees house. The pint I had was OK, but not top notch. The staff and punters weren't particularly friendly and the music was pretty loud on my Friday night visit, so I moved on, but no doubt I'll be back.
