A pub that has been sliding downhill over the last few years and my latest visit found it at a new low. Grubby, cold, two absolutely rancid Marstons list ales (Brakspear/Ringwood) which we ditched and one other customer, some woman who appeared to have been in situ from the previous evening judging by her demeanour. If this pub were a horse, it’d have a bolt put through its head to end its suffering. 1.5

Small, narrow pub which was refurbed a while ago; it's all whitewash, chocolate brown chairs and laminate flooring now and fairly pleasant, in a forgettable way. Two Marstons-list beers are usually served (Brakspear Bitter and a Wychwood brew). Historically not known for good quality, my most recent visit found the beers to be OK, if nothing special. Prices were cheap for Wokingham, at £2.80p/p. Food is served. One for the single thirtysomething lady-about-town. Rated 5

Quite a strange set up to this Brakspear pub, three interconnecting rooms, the front area is set out as a cocktail bar,the middle is as a traditional drinking area with the rear a small lounge area with some sofas.I of course gravitated to the central area and found just two handpumps both unsuprisingly with Brakspear products, Brakspear Bitter and a seasonal Oh be Joyful,I have a general aversion to any themed beers not least christmas ones so I tried the former which turned out as expected.I dont mind diversity but I would have prefered to find this as a complete traditional pub.
