Blue Scrumpy left this review about The Gables
The Gables completed my hat trick of pubs in Leyland where I was requested to sit outside. At least in this one, the landlady was very apologetic and was moving as many people as possible close to the patio heaters.
A walk inside to the toilets revealed that capacity inside has been very much reduced, with presumably many tables removed in order to assure social distancing. Two rooms were served by a central bar.
The regular ale here is Timothy Taylor Landlord. In addition, Boltmaker was also on, as well as Bowland Hen Harrier & Boxer Blonde. My Hen Harrier was quite lively when delivered to my table and quite probably a short measure.

A pleasant large pub with 2 separate bars. 3 cask ales available from the usual suspects. A pleasant lounge is to your right. Outside is a largish decked drinking area. A nice pub to relax in.

The gables was my local from 1975-80 I went there a few times a week but mainly saturdays and played pool,Have not been since but hear from others that its still one of the best pubs to drink in and have a good time.
