First visit here for a few years and nothing has changed. Still an unpretentious and very traditional seafront bar, very Morecambe. two ales on the bar from the local Q Brewery, at a very reasonable £2.50 a pint. Friendly, top class service and a solid group of local drinkers in on a Thursday afternoon. Remains my favourite port of call in town.

OSB Headmaster is my tip for the next big thing beer wise, and it's a permanent fixture on the bar here at £2.45 a pint. nice place which has modernised and opened up inside whilst remaining a really traditional pub. I took advantage of the sun though and sat outside with the view of the bay.

It was quite busy when we called in here having found the Palatine strangely deserted by customers and staff (a temporary state of affairs, as it turned out). This is a smart but old fashioned bar, with what may be original tiling on the left hand wall on entering. Perhaps more importantly, the decent sized bar on the right features six hand pumps, each of which at the time of our visit was augmented by a pump clip (see photos). Even better, beer was only £2.20 a pint! We were charged similar amounts in several Morecambe pubs, but were not sure if this was a regular state of affairs, or because it was Tuesday, or because Luton Town were here (no, probably not). (I didn't notice anything about a Camra members discount, but then I always forget to look. I can't imagine there would have been one applicable at that price anyway.)
The room near the bar was furnished with banquettes in the bay window, but less traditional high tables opposite the bar. A notice by the stairs indicated that diners would find more seating upstairs. My half of local Cross Bay Zenith IPA was in good condition. This looks like a reliable sort of pub and I would be happy to return here (probably on a Tuesday, if possible).

This is an old seafront hotel bar. It consists of a long narrow room with some nice wall tiling and mirrors. There are raised areas at each end for people eating. Despite my Winter Friday visit there were a few in both eating and drinking.
The bar has six hand pumps which had one unused, Cross bay Zenith & Royal house beer, Milton Sparta, Lincoln Green Hood and Great Heck Navigator. I went for the Zenith which at £2.65 was great value especially as I didn't even know about the discount, maybe the barman guessed I was a CAMRA member.
I thought this seaside bar was well worth a look.
