Visited on a Monday evening in May and this is the first pub we visited in the area that was actually busy. Busy but not uncomfortably so, and we managed to find a table towards the far end of the bar. I recall three or four hand pulls, I can't remember the full offering but I went for the White Lion by Empire Brewing. When in Rome and all that. Wainwright Gold was also available, as was Jorvik Blonde by Rudgate. Thinking about it, the fourth hand pull may have been unclipped.

Two sections that would originally have been separate rooms. A central staircase dominates on entering and splits the two sections. Upstairs area presumably has the advertised function room. The bar is along the right hand wall of the right hand section.

This felt like a nice friendly pub, and good to see it busy.

One of the better pubs in Leigh, although its hard not to be put off by the smokers gathered around and blocking the front door and on the external, street side patio.

Inside, its huge high ceilings, open plan and an staircase leading upstairs.

I nearly ordered by Guinness by mistake, having taken it as cask-less. At the opposite end to me, they did have three cask ales on - so I changed my order. I had not heard of the breweries and failed to record what mine was - but it was in very decent condition.

Visited mid December on a Friday around 1:30pm. Five hand pulls at the bar with four in use at the time of my visit - 3 by Wigan Brewhouse (California, Blue Sky Tea Pale Ale, Old Bosun) and Wainwright Gold.

This is a traditional looking pub with lots of dark wood, a cast iron radiator and elegant staircase (upstairs not investigated). Service was friendly. I believe the pub is due to close soon for a refurb so will be interesting to see what changes are made.

A very good pub. A 3 roomed pub and very close to the Wethers. This pub, however, has a much better selection of real ale. There are 7 handpumps on the bar with Allgates's Hic Bibi and Victoria, Rat Rat Mobile, Moorhouse Blond Witch, Bank Top Flat Cap, Burton Bridge Sovereign. The bar is to your right as you enter and to your left are 2 rooms. A good pub.
