The White Hart is a Thwaites pub with front and rear bars that are served by a central U-shaped counter. To the left of the flagstone entrance is a carpeted seating area where a coal fire was roaring away on the rear wall adjacent to the counter. To the right of the entrance is a wooden floored seating area and directly ahead is a door to the rear bar with L-shaped counter. Premium and craft keg were available and the four hand pumps were drawing Thwaites own Handsome Devil, Gold and IPA alongside Old Rosie cider. Being lunchtime I decided to have the ham sandwich with some chips which set me back £10, it was worth the money. There’s regular live music on Saturdays and Thursday hosts a quiz or open mic, best to check with the pub. I thought the service was very friendly and the pub was very comfortable so I’d certainly stop again if passing.

Recently reopened after standing empty for a several months we visited on 10/04/23. The new management are obviously making a big effort. Decent selection of beers including 3 cask lines and Erdinger Weissbier on draught. Food was good, with special mention to the fish and chips and Sunday roasts. There is a beer garden being redeveloped which should be good in summer.
