Real Ale Ray left this review about Shireburn Arms Hotel
A 17th Century Inn and home to the Tolkien Trail. The Shireburn Arms Hotel is now under new ownership, by a company called James' Places. The interior is traditional, with a touch of refinement and class. The layout consisted of two oak panelled rooms off the bar and a library room at one end. The lounge we sat in had a wood burning stove and flag stone floors, each table also had brass candlesticks, lit on our evening visit. The Hotel side had a large restaurant and a couple of private function rooms. The prices here were ok for food and drink and the staff were friendly.
There were two hand pumps serving Tirrill Brewery Old Faithful and Lancaster Brewery Lancaster Blonde, we went for the latter, which was in great shape.
