this pub doesn’t really do anything that Wetherspoons can’t do better. like the Holts house up the road it’s a very corporate very dull town centre barn. Only standard Greene King dishwater available on cask when I visited.

This large corner pub has to compete with the Wethers next door and it does a decent job of it. 4 cask ales plus a cider were available on the day.

Greene King have indeed spent a lot of money on this pub and maybe some more since the last review as the whole place had a "new smell". It's an L shaped pub with lots of different areas, even though it's one room. There's a pool table to the left at the rear. Most of the furniture is dining tables and chairs although there are some high tables. There are also some booths towards the rear. Lots of handpumps with 9 on during my visit, sadly 7 of these were GK beers and the other two from large breweries. Having said that my pint of GK IPA Gold was in good nick and at £2.55 quite cheap for the area. It's not going to become a regular haunt unless the beer range improves, but it's worth a visit for one.

Called in on the 15th of March Greenking have spent a lot of money on this place but its started to go down hill fast all those scrots that were in the Flying Shuttle were in and arguing with each other did not get a drink just left Leave it for a while before i go back
