Very basic locales pub in an aged building, untouched since well before the smoking ban and even the whiff of ciggies past is still hanging around. Fairly small interior with a simple semi-hexagonal bar (seems to be a theme round here), blue carpet, basic seating, dart board, gas fire with a copper top and some embossed swirly wallpaper of a type I haven’t seen for years. Loud 80s hits akin to those from a wedding reception blaring out. Selection of papers spotted. A few middle-aged ruddy-faced locals inside, plus a crackers landlady. It’s a proper tight place that hushes up when ‘unknowns’ enter. Two ales at the bar; GK IPA and a left-field one in Vale Wychert (so-so).

Small community pub with a bit of a rough and ready feel to it. Plenty of flowery language and social commentary from the punters. Live football was showing and there is a dartboard above a copper topped fireplace. A sign above the bar points to the toilets, a beer garden, a car park, a smoking area, a swimming pool, an amphitheatre, a helipad and a bear baiting pit. Two ales from Twickenham and Vale breweries.
