An idyllic and upmarket village pub that ticks quite a few boxes. Rambling, multi room interior with a modern but tasteful take on rustic stylings; wood panelling (painted powder blue), exposed brick, flagstone floor, low beams, roaring log fire, nooks and crannies for seating. There’s a larger more modern dining area to rear right with informal drinking/dining areas elsewhere. There’s a nice sun-trap front garden, replete with gold post box (paralympic winner). Quiz advertised for Monday evenings. Accommodation offered. Three ales on; irritatingly on the pumps were chalked slates rather than brewery clips. Listed were IPA (almost certainly of the GK variety), GK London Glory and Tim Taylor Landlord, the latter of which drank well enough. Prices less expensive than feared. A lovely little place and certainly one to take the partner too for a treat.
