On entering the pub is quite a large affair. Bar straight ahead and plenty of seating to the left and right, and I noticed a pool table too. Sky Sports on a few TVs. No ale here, plenty of lager selection though and quite a few Polish beers on offer in the fridge. Very quiet apart from a few on the pool table on my Saturday afternoon visit. Couldn't see any menus offering the Polish cuisine I'd seen online. I had a Brixton at 4.90 which was decent enough. Not a bad pub in my eyes.

The Poles remain in charge and steer a steady, if somewhat odd, course through selling Polish beers and food whilst also catering to the Occy Road elements (you can turn up here at 4pm on a weekday afternoon and find a few well-lubricated middle aged gentleman having a disco whilst necking shots). Popped in again the other day on the promise of finally trying the food - big generous portions at a decent price. Whilst the Polish beer range is a bit pedestrian for Reading - you're unlikely to come across anything in the fridge that you can't purchase for 2/3 price in one of the local Skleps nearby -there are a least a range of styles including Schwarz and wheat. I have a soft spot for the place.

This is now a dedicated Polish pub and to be fair there were a good number of Polish lagers in bottles in the fridge, with a decent amount of exotic choices beyond the usual suspects available at Lidl/Aldi. Service was friendly and the clientèle were decent enough, think we got a couple of stares as we weren't recognised. Place is in a decent state of repair and it's worth having a look in terms of trying something different. The bottle we had came in at £3.70 (I think) and was about a pints worth.
[As New Inn]
Massive pub which has had a recentish makeover and looks a lot better for it. Unfortunately it doesn't offer much in the way of beer (no real ale) or punter experience. There's bags of potential here though, maybe a Moderation MKII in a few years (presuming it can stay open) as it's by the new build middle-class ghetto of the Battle estate. Used to be a Hobgoblin branded pub years ago.

Definitely a good pub which is worth a visit, if you can put up with the lack of ale there is a good atmosphere with Tv's to watch, a darts board and a table, the pub is spacious and there is a pretty enjoyable and relaxed atmosphere here.

Run down pub with some very strange people inside. Go in if you dare.
