Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Hogarth Inn
This characterful inn serves the village of Grain, once on an island in the Thames estuary, but now at the far end of the Hoo peninsula and in one of the remotest and most windswept parts of Kent. Slightly opened out inside, but there are still four distinct areas: a two-part bar with a substantial former fireplace separating the Loud Side (with a sports TV) from the Quiet Side, with the pool room beyond the former and the darts area down a couple of steps at the back of the latter. Also has a separate restaurant somewhere in the back, but this was closed off when we visited on a Sunday lunchtime. Just Adnams Ghost Ship (£3.60) available from the three handpumps divided between the two counters, but this was welcome refreshment after a bracing coastal walk.

Such a Beautiful building from the outside, lovely people, lovely oak beams and plenty of character inside buts that's it. No home cooked food on offer just a few bar nibbles.
The furniture, the lighting, the carpets are filthy. Loads of room just being neglected.
Its so far out, if people are to travel this distance, they would hope to expect more, there is loads of space inside to open a lovely restaurant that serve home cooked food and even a room for a little children's soft play area.
Isle of Grain is a lovely village with beautiful waterfront walks, popular by many who travel here for them.
A pub with this much history needs somebody to take it under their wing and revamp, it would bring so many more visitors to the village, create jobs for the community and put the Isle of Grain back on the map again.....
Just wish i had the money to help revamp her, a project like this i would love to get stuck into, get the whole village involved in the renovation, sell local made products within the restaurant, she is a beautiful public house crying out for help......
