Blue Scrumpy left this review about The Bull Inn
Situated in the old village of St Paul's Cray and away from the much newer housing and retail developments on the nearby A224, the Bull Inn has a weatherboard exterior that is showing quite a few signs of wear and tear. In fact, I'd go as far as to say that it seemed quite dilapidated and as I approached, I wasn't actually sure whether or not it was still open.
A sign to the side directs you enter via a courtyard, which I duly did. As it happens, the doorway at the front was also in use. Inside, it's a fairly cosy affair with two rooms, one of which is sub-divided. It's carpeted all through and also had quite a few friendly locals and an amenable barman. A cute dog was also strolling around the pub as if he/she owned it, coming out of one door and back in the other and regularly heading behind the bar.
Harvey's Sussex Best Bitter & Sharp's Doom Bar were the real ales. Harvey's certainly does seem to do the rounds in this part of London. In fact, it featured in 6 of the 10 South East London pubs I visited. Yet, I managed to avoid drinking it all day!
