Still has a village pub feel despite the propinquity of the urban sprawl that Maidstone has become. There is a car park on two sides and additional parking on the adjacent roads. There is a covered seating area at the front, mainly used by smokers, and the grassed garden at the rear is quite pleasant. The building is mock-Tudor, and the ground floor has been opened out to be a rather odd L-shaped open plan area with the bar on one side. Dogs treats are available and there is a good menu for humans. The staff are pleasant and welcoming and there is a good local feel. Ales on were Doombar, TT’s Landlord and Wadworth’s 6X. The ales let it down a bit, not the best quality but drinkable nonetheless. Ale quality apart it was a good experience and I’m keen to come back when I’m next in the area.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Fox & Goose
Looks like a country pub (and still describes itself as such), but one which has long since been engulfed by the housing estates on the North East side of Maidstone. Comprises a 'L'-shaped bar with dining room beyond and small side room by the front door. Noticeably low ceilings. Patio seating under a shelter out front. Background music (perhaps a touch loud), but it seemed to have a good atmosphere. Four handpumps, with Doom bar, Pride and Courage Best (£3.50, served in the right glass and in good form) plus Spitfire which was temporarily off. Overall, pretty good.
