Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The George
Right beside a Premier Inn, but not at all the sort of anonymous chain pub / restaurant that one would usually expect. Instead, this is an old inn on the original line of the A2 (Watling Street) and a real local boozer, full on a Sunday afternoon with a boisterous crowd watching the football on the main screen beyond the pool table and other TVs. All the tables in the various small seating areas were occupied so I went for the last free barstool and contemplated the bank of three handpumps all clipped for Doom Bar (£3.70, but actually in rather good shape).
