The Crown is an odd-shaped pub with a thin U-shaped bar area with a stool lined U-shaped serving counter that supports standard keg on the rear wall. Seating on a tartan carpet is found to the left of the entrance where some stairs climb up to the toilets in the left rear. To the right of the entrance is a dartboard where the pub’s dart team were practicing in their matching Crown dart shirts during a recent Wednesday evening visit. They must be division 1! In the left rear is a raised seating area that I didn’t visit, but I assume this is where the advertised live music is set-up on Sunday afternoons. The likes of Dire Straits were playing off the jukebox and BBC News was muted on the televisions, I didn’t see any live sport ads. There was a good atmosphere in here, especially for the time of week, so I’d return, it’s just a shame about the boring draught selection.
