Surprisingly large Brakspear pub and clearly a fair bit of money spent here a few years ago, felt quite upmarket in an 80’s take on Swiss chalet chic; wood heavy, comfy chairs, though the description on WhatPub says that it’s a mix of original décor and a 2012 refub! Tidy beer garden with kids play area. Selection of board games. Rugby on the TV. Four Marston-list ales on and a good selection; Marstons New World, Brakspear Bitter, Jennings Cumberland and Marstons Single Hop Flyer, the latter of which was in superb shape. Mrs Quinno also gave the place marks for stocking a range of chocolate bars. I rather liked it in here. 7.5
