Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Kings Head
Solid three-storey building in the centre of this small town, built in 1870 and still operating as a inn (albeit now a new-fangled 'Kitchen + Bar + Rooms' establishment). As you would expect from the new description, the interior has been completely remodelled and refurbished in a mix of faux-rustic and contemporary styles. The main space now comprises a 'L'-shaped arrangement with a compact bar and partially opened-out side dining area at the front (with piped music, but a very welcome real fire) and the main dining room stretching to the back. Also has a few small metal tables out front and some chunky wooden benches in the covered side alleyway (that you surprisingly - in a very 19th-century way - still have to follow to reach the gents toilets). Two Shepherd Neame ales on handpump: Spitfire Gold and Whitstable Bay Pale (£4.10). Fairly busy with diners on a Sunday lunchtime, but only one other customer just having a pint.

Manky Badger left this review about Kings Head Hotel
I'm told they have won awards for the food, but for the beer, typical Shep's offerings. I had a pint there this evening, sitting outside watching the world go by.
A pleasant enough place, would cetainly go back. However, I would say that in many ways it's a typical Shepherd Neame country pub. If you like them, you'll like this one.
