Traditional village pub, with a couple of benches out front and a nice "secret" garden at the rear. From this garden, you summonse service by pressing a little door bell on the table. The system works well and in seconds, a waitress comes to take your order.
Only real ale on was Doom Bar.

I understand the Vine has recently been sold. But it was still open. But despite it being peak tourist season, the pub was particularly quiet.
Sharp's Doom Bar is the regular beer. The guest was Yates's Don't Look Back In Amber.
Seemed like a friendly enough place. Who knows what a change in ownership may bring.

A pleasant location overlooking the village green, The Vine has a single large bar which is full of character and a smaller games room to the rear with a pool table. There was a varied menu which included local fish. It gets very busy during tourist season but was fairly quiet this time, with just a few locals in. They run regular pub quizzes. Three ales on draft, plus various Badger beers in bottles. I had Ringwood Best and Itchen's Tea Clipper, both on good form though served just a bit too cool - possibly why they didn't make the 2012 GBG. It's well worth finding if you're driving, and it's worth the walk from Bembridge Marina if sailing in.

An unrendered brick built corner pub, with double front gable and covered porch. in the GBG 2010
The interior is open plan and near enough one long room that ends with a raised pool and dart area. The decor is mainly white, with olive greeny colour and wood panel. It does food, but i didnt eat. There wasnt a lot in the way of pictures, apart from one corner and there was TV. The service was ok and the clientele a full mix, it is equally popular with families and holidaymakers as locals.
Beer; tap stuff, with Bass, London Pride and a decent Goddard's Inspiration.
An all round solid pub, with nice views of the green - i think this is why the cricketers are on the sign! it always seems to be busy when i have visited and i am sure i will be back.

Very nice pub - friendly and seemed to be well looked-after. Good beers and food. Recommended. Only question is why there are cricketers on the sign for the Vine??
