Nice looking pub from the outside and in, although the loud music (which I could hear from around 30-40 yards away as I approached) was unnecessary, as were three large screens showing an EFL match to no-one in particular and a boisterous clutch of male-only locals. Two ales - St Austell Tribute and a very good Adnam's Ghost Ship for a reasonable £3.50, with middle stump unclipped (although three ales were advertised - the two that were on and Fuller's London Pride, so little extra invention). Interior was clean inside and the barmaid cheery - she bade me a pleasant farewell, but a little let down by some of the elements, so a par score.

Nice old cottage style pub in a picturesque part of Welwyn Village, near the church. Low ceilings and a lot if exposed brickwork and wooden beams. Three hand pumps but don't seem to be in use. Pool table, jukebox TV.
