A smallish one-roomer on the road south-east out of the village of Markyate. Staple-shaped and carpeted, seating is upholstered banquette-style and there are beams a-plenty across the ceiling as well as lots of old black and white photos of the locale on the walls. Just the one ale on (the second pump was unclipped) dispensing as it did Tring Ridgeway which was in good shape at £3.10 a pint. Pleasingly, there were a clutch of locals at the bar, and a fair few were commandeering the tables out front, which were capturing the extended June rays of sun.
