Blue Scrumpy left this review about The Red Lion
The Red Lion is the more obvious of the two Pembridge pubs, as the New Inn has a front entrance tucked away up a side street, despite the rear of that building being on the High Street itself. We arrived to find the outdoor areas quite busy on a nice spring afternoon. Tables are situated just to the right-hand side of the pub and also in a garden next to the village church, set at a higher level than the street.
Inside, there is a single room, which was fairly quiet with just one other group of customers until we arrived. It took a while for anybody to appear to serve, despite there being a plethora of staff in the kitchen. Ales were Wye Valley HPA & Midas Touch. Food smelt good, but we resisted and instead shared a bag of scratchings.
Pembridge is a lovely village to visit, especially when the sun is out. However, based on my previous visit back in 2010, I would plump for the New Inn being the better of its two pubs.
