Estate pub with a traditional pub feel its presumably a community pub serving locals. There was a double buggy just left in the lounge which felt a bit odd as it was where you walk in. The Wye Valley beer was good but its not the sort of place you'd go out of your way for and I expect best left as a locals pub

A fair walk along the canal to this GBG listed Wye Valley pub. It’s a deceptively large two room local via a porch with a skittles alley to the rear. The right-side room is public/sports bar with pool, darts, quarry floor, sports TV and bar blockers. Left side is a much more agreeable lounge with pub carpet, red fabric banquettes, sofas and a wood fire. GBG listed and there was a plethora of pumps but just Wye Valley Butty Bach and their lesser-spotted Bitter (NBSS 3) were available which I suppose is about right. Whilst I’m glad that the brewery have stepped-in to keep this one going it’s ultimately only one for the seasoned ticker; there’s no compelling need to leave the city centre otherwise. 6.5

A surprisingly spacious back street local, with two rooms and a games room extension, plus beer garden. Children are welcome, but "the price of a pint does not include child care". This pub is one of several owned by Wye Valley Brewery, but there were only two of their beers on at the time of my visit. I was not particularly impressed by the quality of my half of Wye Valley Bitter. But this is not really a pub for beer tourists and passers by: it's a local pub for local people.

A former Marstons pub that shut in 2011, it reopened in 2012 after a renovation by the Wye Valley Brewery.
