Fairly basic town centre pub doing a brisk lunchtime trade. Four hand pumps with just Abbot and Hobgoblin Gold on. I went for a half of the former, which was pretty good (NBSS 3, £4.70/pint). There are several different seating areas, with some old furniture such as settles and old kitchen tables with flap extensions. The bar is fairly old by the look of it, with green and cream painted wood panelling, and a varnished top. The floor is modern veneer, but apart from that this seems like a pub that has been untouched for 50 years, including Radio 2 in the background, although there is a jukebox.

A decent traditional pub and the nearest to the bus station. Basically open plan through there are 4 distinct areas to sit. A pool table is to the right of the bar. 4 handpumps on the bar but only 2 working, dispensing Rev James and Salopian Oracle today.
